Subject: Important Update Regarding BHHC EGM and Charity Commission Guidance.
Dear Friends and BHHC Members,
We hope this message finds you well.
Regrettably, due to ongoing confusion and issues, we have been kindly requested by the Charity Commission to postpone our Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), which was scheduled for 17 August 2025, until after their Review has been completed. We still plan to attend the Brunswick Festival, as it is a special and unifying event in Brighton. If any Members are planning to join, we warmly welcome you.
Several breaches of our Constitution have been identified, along with the misuse of BHHC (Charity No. 1193686) funds by former Trustees, now referred to as “Trustees in breach.”
We have sought clarification from the Charity Commission on whether it is appropriate to continue paying our membership fees into the same bank account, which is currently frozen, for outgoing payments.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process and will keep you updated as we receive further guidance from the Charity Commission.
Warm regards,
Jolanta Duda
BHHC Committee
